COLLABORATIONS
Being aware of the importance of the international
collaborations, directly related to the mission and the objectives
already stated, the "Politehnica" University of Timisoara
has continuously extended and developed the relations with foreign
partners through projects, programs and activities of learning and
scientific research. The developing strategy for cooperation programs
between the "Politehnica" University of Timisoara and
foreign partners was based on two coordinates:
- to take part at programs and projects financed by the European
Union;
- to establish as many bilateral agreements as posible with universities
from Europe and other continents.
The "Politehnica" University of Timisoara has focused
on concluding agreements with universities from all over the world.
Due to the agreements signed between the faculties, the departments
have established mutual relations, even facilities about travelling
costs, hosting and meals. We have a list with the most important
universities that the "Politehnica" University of Timisoara
signed agreements with.
Since 1991, when the PHARE-TEMPUS program became accessible to the
Romanians, the "Politehnica" University of Timisoara has
taken part at 34 projects. In the moment, 22 projects are active
and in 6 of them, UPT is the coordinator. Until now, UPT initiated
or signed institutional agreements for SOCRATES Program. We offer
a list with 23 of the bilateral agreements signed by the "Politehnica"
University of Timisoara with partners from SOCRATES/ERASMUS Program.
A large number of professors, students and scientists has been sustained
and encouraged to take part at international scientific events,
cultural exchange, summer courses, summer practice, practice for
diploma paper, documentation periods.
The "Politehnica" University of Timisoara is the member,
as an institution or as private representation, of more than 20
international academic and scientific organizations and associations.
Personalities with a high scientific prestige of the universities
from Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, France, Italy, USA and Japan
became Doctor Honoris Causa And Honorary Professors of the "Politehnica"
University of Timisoara.
Speaking about the strategy of the management of international relations,
in the "Politehnica" University of Timisoara was created
the Department for International Programs and Relations. This department
is directly coordinated by the Rector and the Scientific Secretary
and it assures the coordination, the evidence and the following
of the international programs. This department has the following
functions:
- representation, protocol and public relations in the international
agreements field;
- evidence and following of the programs and the activities of academic
collaborations;
- initiates the international collaboration, gatheres information
and acquires it;
- keeps the evidence of the official trips;
- offers advice for the use of the financial resources needed in
collaborations.
